Season 4 of the Gary Oldman-led espionage drama “Slow Horses” will return to Apple TV+ Sept. 4 with a two-episode premiere. Based on the novel “Spook Street” by Mick Herron, the series follows Oldman as Jackson Lamb, a pessimistic intelligence agent who must lead M15’s dumping ground department known as Slough House after a career-ending incident.
Per an official logline, the new season “opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking the already unstable foundations of Slough House.”
“Slow Horses” is adapted for television by Will Smith (“Veep”) and produced by See-Saw Films. Executive producers include Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Jane Robertson, Julian Stevens, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Graham Yost and Smith. Adam Randall serves as director.

Paramount+ has released the trailer and key art for the seventh and final season of its original drama series “Seal Team,” which premieres Aug. 11.
According to an official logline, “The series follows the lives of the Navy SEALs’ most elite unit as they execute dangerous high-stakes operations to defend their country at a deeply personal cost. In the final season, Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) struggles to balance his warrior’s existence with the responsibilities of single fatherhood. Ray Perry ( Neil Brown Jr.), his trusted second in command, questions whether he will be able to leave the battlefield behind as his retirement nears.”
Other cast members include A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks, Raffi Barsoumian and Beau Knapp.

Apple TV+ revealed a first look at its psychological thriller series “Disclaimer,” starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. The seven-episode limited series will make its global debut Oct. 11 with the first two episodes, followed by episodes every Friday through Nov. 15.
The logline for the series reads: “Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets.As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee).”
The ensemble cast includes Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George and Hoyeon.Written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón, “Disclaimer” is based on the eponymous best-selling novel by Renée Knight.

Apple TV+ has revealed the lineup of “Super Music Friends” who will perform throughout the first 10-episode season of “Yo Gabba GabbaLand!,” which premiers Aug. 9. The lineup includes Anderson .Paak, Portugal. The Man, Thundercat, Betty Who, The Linda Lindas, Miyavi, Cory Wong & Antwaun Stanley, Kurt Vile, The Drums and The Interrupters.
Other confirmed guest stars for “Yo Gabba GabbaLand!” (a sequel to the hip 2000s preschholer entry “Yo Gabba Gabba!) includes Reggie Watts, Sam Richardson, Gillian Jacobs, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lauren Lapkus, Chelsea Peretti, Diplo, Flea, Big Daddy Kane, Paul Williams and more.
“Yo Gabba GabbaLand!” is produced in partnership and collaboration with WildBrain and Yo Gabba Gabba, LLC. Series creators Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz serve as executive producers with Josh Scherba and Stephanie Betts.
MGM+ has announced additional cast to “Earth Abides,” starring Alexander Ludwig and Jessica Frances Dukes. The series, from showrunner Todd Komarnicki and set for a late 2024 premiere, centers on “when a plague of unprecedented virulence sweeps the globe, the human race is all but wiped out. In the aftermath, as the great machine of civilization slowly and inexorably breaks down, only a few shattered survivors remain to struggle against the slide into extinction.”

As ESPN kicks off its two-week Wimbledon coverage on July 1, tennis legends John Isner and Nick Kyrgios have been added to the booth.
Isner, who retired following last year’s U.S. Open, will join the ESPN tennis on-air team July 1 to July 7, from the first round to round of 16 coverage.Kyrgios, who made his on-air debut with ESPN during the 2024 Australian Open, returns to the ESPN booth for both weeks (July 1-14).
“We are thrilled John and Nick are joining us in London. “Y’Africa: Sports Champions in Africa”will launch its third season on The Africa Channel the first week of July, timed to the start of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The series will air every Monday starting Mon July 1st at 7 pm ET with two episodes weekly repeating Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 4:30 pm ET and Sundays at 6:30 pm ET. The series will be available on Demand Africa beginning October 1.
* A&E Networks will debut the two-part documentary series “The Chicano Squad” on Sept. 2-3. The program from Jupiter Entertainment and Bender Brown Productions revisits the story of the all-Latino police squad assembled in Houston in 1979 in response to a rash of murders.
Lawrence Bender, and Kevin Kelly Brown, Sergio Selvera and Nancy De Los Santos are executive producers alongside showrunner-director Mario Díaz. According to A&E, ” ‘The Chicano Squad’ explores how these men revolutionized community policing and went on to be an integral division in the Houston Police Department for decades, serving as the inspiration for other squads around the country.”

Production and distribution company Electric Entertainment and fan convention company Creation have partnered for ElectricCon. The convention will commemorating Electric’s original programs, like “The Librarians” and “The Outpost” on October 12 and 13 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.
Programming across the two days will include special guests, panel discussions, cosplay, autograph signing sessions, photo opportunities, sales of exclusivemerchandise and more. The full convention schedule along with ticket pricing and on-sale dates is yet to be announced.

Former NFL safety Steve Gleason will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage for his fight against ALS. The award is given to a deserving member of the sports world who has made a difference beyond the field of play by fighting for what they believe in, impacting people worldwide.
University of South Carolina women’s basketball head coach, U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member and Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame member Dawn Staley will receive the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance on the heels of her 38-0 season and NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship title. The award not only recognizes her resilience on the court and ongoing support for women’s sports and equality in the sports world, but also for her leadership in the fight against cancer.
Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex will receive the Pat Tillman Award for Service, an award given to a person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger, Pat Tillman. After serving for 10 years in the British Armed Forces, including two tours of duty in Afghanistan as a forward air controller and Apache helicopter pilot, Prince Harry founded The Invictus Games Foundation. The foundation supports wounded, injured and sick servicepeople – both active-duty and veterans – who are navigating both physical and invisible injuries.
CASTING
Rosario Dawson (“Ahsoka”), André Holland (“Moonlight”), Sonoya Mizuno (“House of the Dragon”) and Ann Dowd (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) have been cast in Netflix’s anime series “Terminator Zero.”
Created and executive produced by Mattson Tomlin and executive produced by Skydance, the series is a part of the Terminator universe, but centers around new characters.
Per the show’s logline: “Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who works to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by an unrelenting assassin from the future which forever alters the fate of his three children.”
Dawson plays Kokoro, an advanced AI and Japan’s answer to Skynet. Holland voices Malcolm Lee, a genius computer programmer and father of three. Mizuno plays Eiko, a resistance fighter sent back in time to stop Malcolm from launching Kokoro. Dowd portrays the Prophet, a philosophical guide for the human resistance in the future.
The series is set to release Aug. 29.

Scot Ruggles has booked a recurring guest star role on the upcoming FX anthology series “American Sports Story.” The series’ first season, written by Stu Zicherman, is based on the podcast“Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc.”from the Boston Globe and Wondery. It charts the rise and fall of NFL superstar Aaron Hernandez. Ruggles portrays Steve Addazio, a recruiter for the University of Florida who pursues Hernandez to come play for the school.
